This week has been a very challenging week, as far as my blog goes. Yes, I know it’s only Tuesday. I have been having writer’s block and couldn’t figure out what I wanted to write about this week. For whatever reason, I couldn’t come up with a single tutorial I wanted to share or other photographic knowledge. Believe me, I have plenty of information but none of it was coming to mind. I rather liked the one about color theory last week but of course, I couldn’t rehash that. So, I got to thinking. What exactly do I want to share with the good readers of my blog? Considering there is absolutely nothing going on in my life because we all are sheltering in place, I couldn’t talk about that. Also because of the sheltering in place, I do not have any client sessions to blog about either. As far as photography is concerned, I just couldn’t come up with a fresh idea. Then I had a thought. In case you wanted to know what I’d like to do with my photography, I figured I could share that. So here goes…
After all of this sheltering in place is done, there are a few clothing boutiques I would love to work with. Lately, (well, not really lately, it has been for a while now) I’ve become very interested in children’s couture. If you’re not familiar, think of beautiful and elegant formal clothing for children. Believe me, it’s a thing. Anyway, I feel that it would fit great into the fine art aesthetic I am moving towards. Plus, it will help me diversify what I am doing now. Working with a boutique would be a different dynamic than what I currently do. Don’t worry, I’m not going to stop what I’m doing, just adding to it. Doing anything you love means continuing to grow within that discipline. I believe that this is something that will help me grow and to stretch my skills, knowledge, creativity and image creation to another level.
One of the boutiques I’m looking forward to working with is Kinsley’s Kollection. I initially found them on Instagram. Yes, Instagram. They have some of the cutest clothes! OMG! They are so adorable. If you have little people you buy clothes for, please click here to check them out. To be honest, I guess Kinsley’s Kollection isn’t necessarily couture but it is definitely fashionable. It makes me wish my son was 3 or 4 years old again just so I could dress him. I’m not going to say they are cute enough for me to have another child though. I think I would just borrow someone’s child. By the way, they are located here in Georgia.
Next would be Monbebe Couture. They are truly a children’s couture boutique with the most gorgeous dresses! And yes, I found them on Instagram too. To view their clothes, please click here. How great would that be for little girls to bring out their inner princess? Playing dress up in mommy’s clothes is one thing and wearing a dress from Monbebe Couture is a whole other experience. I would love to provide an experience like that to some little girls and I’d love to create beautiful images for Monbebe as well.
Another boutique I found was Love Baby J Couture which you can find here. They have some extremely beautiful dresses that I’m sure many little girls dream of wearing. Believe it or not, I did not find them on Instagram. I actually found them doing a search for children’s couture. After seeing their website I knew I wanted to work with them. Can’t you just picture how well my photography would work with any of these boutiques?
Lastly, another boutique located here in Georgia, Bella Baby. You can find their link here. I’ve only been able to visit their location once. They are another boutique that I did not find on Instagram. I think some years ago I was searching for children’s boutiques but I didn’t have a plan as to what I wanted to do. I believe I was targeting their clientele instead of trying to collaborate with them. Regardless, I think I will check with them to see if they are in need or have a desire for a photographer. What could it hurt? Unfortunately, not sure when that is going to happen but I will get the ball rolling nonetheless. So, if you have little people to dress and you need clothes for a special o occasion or you just want your kids looking fashionable and swagaliscious, then check out these boutiques. I mean, with this variety, you should be able to find something you like.
Welp, that’s all I’ve got for today. I hope it was helpful and maybe you have some new places to check out. If I can remember, I’ll try to update you on what becomes of my inquiries. Keep your fingers crossed and send any prayers my way if the feeling hits you. One last ask, if there is anything that you want to know or want me to blog about, please let me know in the comments. I’d love to read what you’ve got to say!
