Contrary to popular or unpopular belief, we still are in a pandemic. Yes, that darn virus is still running amuck. I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty tired of it. Not that I can’t stay home but there are times when I actually want to go out and see my friends and family. Sure, I can do a FaceTime call or Zoom but I need to actually be around them, hug them, hold their hands. I’m a very affectionate person so not being able to be with and touch my loved ones is rather difficult. Luckily, I do have my husband and son to touch but they aren’t as affectionate as I am, so they could be tired of me.
Considering that this virus is very contagious, I’m definitely not trying to catch it nor do I want to inadvertently give it to my clients. How do I do that? First off, if you come to my studio I typically only allow no more than three other people. Those three people are my makeup artist when necessary, my client and perhaps someone who is traveling with my client. Of course, with my children’s sessions that additional person is the parent because I don’t know any 4 or 5 year-olds who know how to drive. In addition to this, I sanitize the surfaces to prepare for each client.
When I go to my clients’ homes, of course I can’t control how many people are in their homes but I can make a request that they keep the number of people in our area to a minimum. In either location, I make sure to wear my mask and those not being photographed wear masks as well. Not only do I want to create beautiful images for my clients but I also want to keep them and me safe. At some point, we will be clear of this virus and life can resume. Man, I can’t wait for that because this quarantine life is not for me.
