It’s that time again! Spring break! Woohoo! You would think that I’m still in school with my reaction. Even though I am not, I feel as though I am. My son is a sophomore in high school and he is still doing virtual learning. When I say that it is stressing me out, I am totally serious. In case you’re wondering, he can actually go back to school on a hybrid schedule, we just haven’t taken that option but I think that we may end up changing to it.
Everyday there is something else to worry/consider/stress out about. For those parents who are familiar with Infinite Campus, it is both a Godsend and a tool of the Devil. Whenever I hear the notification on my phone go off, I don’t know what kind of information I’m in for. Will this be a good notification or a not-so-good notification? At times, I feel like I should take bets on what the notification will be.
I think my son is as stressed out as I am. Part of his stress comes from school and I’m sure the other part comes from me and my stress. With that said, it will be great to have a break from school. In fact, I don’t want to think about school the entire week and I’m sure he feels the same. My husband has tasked me with figuring out something fun for us to do. Really? I don’t think they want me to plan something because they generally don’t like the kind of things I like. Every once in a while I’ll get lucky and they enjoy something that interests me but that doesn’t happen too often. If you’ve got any ideas, I’m all ears.
One suggestion my son made was paintball. My husband nixed that idea immediately. I think he misunderstood, though. Our son doesn’t want to play paintball with us. He wants to play with his friends. I can just see my husband trying to run, duck and cover. That would be very entertaining. Perhaps I’ll let him do something with his friends. For the most part, I’ll still be working. So, if you want to schedule a session while the kids are out and the weather is nice, I just might be available. Don’t worry, I’ll take a day or two extra off just to hang out with my son, if he’ll let me. Sometimes teenage boys can be so fickle. (Insert eye roll).
Oh, don’t forget, I have my model call still going on with sessions starting on April 12th and lasting through April 24th. The cut-off to have a consultation to prepare for the session is April 5th because I will need time to get the necessary clothing for the children. If you or someone you know has a child or children between the ages of 3 and 6, please contact me here to set up your consultation so that we can be on the way to creating beautiful images of your child or children. Until next week…
