As time goes on, things and people change. I and my business have changed. How I approach my photography and my photography style have both changed or at least expanded over the years. In addition to that, I have changed many of my business processes and back-office procedures. You may not see what has changed but I’m sure if you’ve been with me long enough you have noticed them. Photographing children is still my main focus, so nothing new there.
In other posts, I mentioned that I am moving closer to fine art children’s photography. I still provide my regular fun portraits but for those who want a different experience, I’ve added fine art to the mix. It really allows me more creative freedom, which I absolutely love. Yes, I guess I’ve always had a great deal of creative freedom but I was never really in control of the wardrobe. The fact that I select the wardrobe and create the vision without much collaboration with the parents is a game-changer for me. Prior to the session, you and I will talk about what your child(ren) like(s) or enjoy(s). With that information, I will work to bring that to life during the session. Basically, you really have to trust me with the direction. The best part is that you don’t have to worry about how to dress your child(ren).
Come to think of it, I feel like a butterfly! The only difference is that I didn’t have to dissolve into some nasty goo and then be totally recreated. All I had to do was just redo my website, update my branding and logo. That was so much easier! In fact, I love my new logo. What do you think?
Years ago, I designed my own logo. I know, that’s a no-no. I really wanted something like what is displayed above but I just couldn’t find the right scripted font to use. To make things easier, I just stuck with using the same, clean and simple font throughout but changed the Art to an accent color. It wasn’t too far from what I currently have now but I feel that now it has a more artistic feel. I’m just so excited about my new branding and website that I just had to share! Hey, after you finish reading this, it would be great if you took a moment to check out my new site and let me know what you think!
